Playtri Little Elm Lake Triathlon & Run-Bike-Run
This USA Triathlon sanctioned event takes place at Little Elm Park, 135 Lighthouse Beach Dr, Little Elm, TX 75068. The program includes multiple race formats on the same day, plus relay and virtual options.
Event formats and distances:
- Sprint Triathlon: 500 meter swim, 16 mile bike, 5K run
- Olympic Triathlon: 1500 meter swim, 24 mile bike, 10K run
- Duathlon Run-Bike-Run: 1 mile run, 16 mile bike, 5K run
Swims occur in the lake; water temperature will be measured on race morning and wetsuit rules follow USA Triathlon regulations. Swimmers are assigned to starting corrals based on predicted swim times (for example, a 23-minute predicted swim would be placed in a 20-25 minute corral).
Bike courses are run as multiple loops: the sprint uses two loops and the Olympic uses three loops. Runs take place on roads and the paved trail system in Little Elm.
A virtual race option allows participants to complete the required distances in each discipline during the week leading up to the event; t-shirts and finisher medals for virtual participants are mailed the week after the event. The minimum age to participate is 13 years; the organizer reserves the right to accept or reject any entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
