Event overview
The Playtri Little Elm Lake Triathlon & Run-Bike-Run takes place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Little Elm Park Beachfront Recreational Park. The event is USA Triathlon sanctioned and includes multiple race formats: Sprint Triathlon, Olympic Triathlon, Duathlon (Run-Bike-Run), sprint and Olympic relays, a duathlon relay, and a virtual option for triathlon and duathlon.
Distances and course details
- Sprint Triathlon: 500 meter swim, 16 mile bike, 5K run.
- Olympic Triathlon: 1500 meter swim, 24 mile bike, 10K run.
- Duathlon (Run-Bike-Run): 1 mile run, 16 mile bike, 5K run.
Swims take place in the lake; water temperature may vary and will be determined on race morning. Swimmers line up in corrals based on predicted swim time. The sprint bike course is two loops and the Olympic bike course is three loops. Runs use roads and the paved trail system of Little Elm.
Entry, eligibility and rules
Standard entry prices listed are $89 for Sprint, Olympic and Duathlon events and $49 for relay entries and the virtual race; some prices increase on specified dates. The minimum age to participate is generally 13 years (Olympic events require 17+). All bikes must comply with USA Triathlon rules and helmets are required.
