The Pineywoods RUCK Relay is a 27-mile team relay on April 25, 2026, running from the Upshur County Courthouse area in Gilmer, TX to the Gregg County Courthouse in Longview, TX. Course, equipment and logistics

Surfaces include highway shoulders, backroads, sidewalk, and dirt or grass sides of roads. Total elevation gain for the course is about 1700 ft. Aid station hydration is provided, and teams are responsible for navigation, planning, food, and transport.

Required equipment and rules include headlamps for participants who start in the dark, high-visibility traffic safety gear on public roadways, staying on the left side of the road facing traffic, moving onto the shoulder for oncoming traffic, and carrying a communication device. Ruck weight requirements: 30 lb if the participant weighs more than 150 lbs, 20 lb if under 150 lbs; ruck sack or vest is allowed.
