Pine Lake Triathlon
The Pine Lake Triathlon is the second annual event organized by Yukon Run For Life, staged from Pine Lake/Tsi Man beach. Distances are:
- 1 km swim
- 23 km bike
- 6 km run
The event is volunteer run and self supported, with safety checkpoints along the course. Search and Rescue boats will be on the water during the swim. Water temperature will be posted in the days before the event; wearing a wetsuit is optional.
The bike route follows a dirt logging road and then highway; a hybrid or gravel bike is recommended. Participants must carry bear spray for the bike and run sections. Bikes may be dropped off ahead of time on the other side of Pine Lake; volunteers will monitor the transfer station and bike drop area.
The run follows the paved Trans Canada trail along the highway back to the campground. Registration is open to individuals and teams of two or three. The listed registration fee is CA$44.09 per person and includes a t shirt. Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver in person on the day of the event.
