Piermont Fire 5K
The Piermont Fire 5K is a community fundraising event in Piermont, New York, organized to support volunteer fire and EMS services in Rockland County and the Lower Hudson Valley. The event was created by the Empire Hose Company #1 to mark its 175th year of service and to raise funds and help recruit new members for participating charity partners.
The event program includes:
- 5K Run or Walk
- 100 yard dash fun run for children ages 8 and under
The course runs through Piermont, goes out to the end of the pier, and returns, offering views along the Hudson River. The start and finish are located in front of the Dennis P. McHugh Piermont Public Library at 25 Flywheel Park West, Piermont, NY 10968.
Awards are given for overall fastest 5K men and women, top age group finishers, and fastest first responders in firefighter, EMT, and police categories. Kid participants in the 100 yard dash receive a medal. All 5K runners and walkers receive a custom event T shirt; size availability may vary and additional shirts are available for purchase.
The 100 yard fun run is non timed and non competitive, with age used as a general guideline and parental guidance recommended for placement. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
