Event Overview
The Pi Day 5k is a run/walk event in Green Bay, scheduled for March 14. This is the 12th annual edition of the event.
The race is organized by fifth-grade students from the Leonardo da Vinci School. They handle tasks like designing t-shirts, securing sponsors, planning the race route, and managing race day details. Over the past eleven years, the event has donated over $220,000 to local charities.
The beneficiary for this year is Old Glory Honor Flight, an organization that provides free day trips to Washington, D.C., for veterans.
Event Details
The race is a 5k run/walk. A separate CupCake Kids Sprint for children is also held at 8:30 AM. Pets are not allowed to participate.
Registration is open and participants must register by February 20 to be guaranteed a t-shirt in their correct size. Different registration categories are available:
- Child 5k (for participants under 15)
- Adult 5k
- Family 5k (for up to 6 people)
- Team 5k (for up to 10 people)
- CupCake Kids Sprint
Packet pickup is available on the day before the race at the Leonardo da Vinci Gymnasium, located at 139 South Monroe Avenue. On race day, packet pickup, a pre-race program, and a raffle with ticket sales take place before the start. Raffle prize drawings are held while participants are racing.
