PhoMo 50K

PhoMo 50K

PhoMo 50K is a 50 kilometer trail event organized by GhostHead Productions in Phoenix, AZ, with the start and finish at Shadow Rock Church and the route running through the Phoenix Mountain Preserves and around Shaw Butte.

The course will not be marked. Participants will be provided GPX coordinates to upload to a watch or smartphone. Designated preserve trails are generally marked at junctions. Trails are rocky and often technical, with about 5,500+ feet of elevation gain and very limited shade.

Aid and support include planned aid stations at the top parking lot of Piestewa Peak trailhead and the Dreamy Draw trailhead ramada for both outbound and return sections. Water fountains and restrooms are available at Dreamy Draw Trailhead, North Mountain Visitor Center, and Piestewa Peak Drive. Runners should carry calories and water at all times; a hydration vest is recommended. Crew access is allowed at listed trailheads and pacers are permitted starting from Piestewa Peak trailhead.

The field is limited to 50 runners and crew. Free parking is available at the church and a porta potty will be on site. Participants will receive a commemorative PhoMo hat and additional swag if registered by December 23, 2026. Timing will be manual and runners must check in with an aid station volunteer at Dreamy Draw on both passes. The event proceeds rain or shine and there are no refunds for cancellations.

Prizes include entries and merchandise awarded to top finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
