PhoMo 50K - December 12, 2026
PhoMo 50K is the third annual running of a 50K trail race in Phoenix, Arizona, organized by GhostHead Productions. The event starts and finishes at Shadow Rock Church, 12861 N 8th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85029, and runs on trails within the Phoenix Mountain Preserves.
The course will not be marked, but GPX coordinates will be provided for upload to a watch or smartphone. Designated preserve trails are generally marked at junctions. Terrain is rocky and technical with about 5,500+ feet of elevation gain and very limited shade. Aid stations are planned at the top parking lot of Piestewa Peak trailhead and the Dreamy Draw ramada for the out-and-back section. Water fountains and restrooms are available at Dreamy Draw Trailhead, North Mountain Visitor Center, and Piestewa Peak Drive. Runners should carry calories and water for long stretches; a hydration vest is recommended.
The event is limited to 50 runners and crew. Crew access is allowed at listed trailheads and pacers are allowed at accessible trailheads and specifically from Piestewa Peak trailhead. Runners will be manually timed and must check in with an aid station volunteer at Dreamy Draw on both passes. Free parking and a porta potty will be available at the church. Packet pick up and a shake out run are planned on Dec 10 at a location and time to be determined. All participants will receive a commemorative PhoMo hat and other swag.
