PhoMo 50K

PhoMo 50K is an ultramarathon held in Phoenix, Arizona, organized by GhostHead Productions. The course starts and finishes at the Shadow Rock Church parking lot at 12861 N 8th Ave and the event is limited to 50 runners and crew. Free parking at the church and a porta potty will be available.

The route runs through the Phoenix Mountain Preserves and uses designated trails. The terrain is rocky and often technical, with about 5,500+ feet of elevation gain and very limited shade. The course will not be physically marked; participants will have GPX coordinates to upload to a watch or smartphone. The designated trails are generally well marked at each junction.

Aid and support are planned at major trailheads. Aid stations are expected at the top parking lot of Piestewa Peak trailhead and the Dreamy Draw trailhead ramada for the out-and-back section. Water fountains and restrooms are available at Dreamy Draw Trailhead, North Mountain Visitor Center, and Piestewa Peak Drive. Runners are advised to carry calories and water at all times and a hydration vest is recommended. Crew access is allowed at the listed trailheads and pacers are allowed from accessible trailheads, including Piestewa Peak trailhead.

Runners will be manually timed and must check in with an aid station volunteer at Dreamy Draw both times. Organizers plan training runs and a packet pick up and shake out run on Dec 10 at a location and time to be determined. The event proceeds rain or shine and there are no refunds or credits for cancellations. All participants receive a commemorative PhoMo hat and other swag.
