The Philmont Trail Race takes place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in Cimarron, New Mexico (17 Deer Run Rd, 87714). Logistics and additional information
Proceeds from the race benefit Philmont Scout Ranch and the Boy Scouts of America. Philmont Scout Ranch is described as a 140,000 acre high adventure camp with over 300 miles of trails. Its programs serve scouts ages 13 to 21 with 12-, 9-, and 7-day backpacking treks and crew sizes of 8-12. Additional on-site activities listed include climbing, shooting, biking, living history, and fishing.
The published race schedule notes packet pick up on July 31 at the Philmont Welcome Center and a tent check out on August 2.
