Peter's Run 5K and The Bryant Mile : Rose of Sharon Church, Bear Grass NC
This event is hosted by the Rose of Sharon Laymen's League at Rose of Sharon Church in Bear Grass, Robersonville, NC. It includes two main races and is managed professionally by Run The East. The occasion also includes a short devotion acknowledging the biblical account of the empty tomb.
- 5K - race with awards in age groups for men and women
- 1 mile (The Bryant Mile) - untimed walk supporting the Project with a halfway donut stop
The 5K is organized for runners who enjoy competition; awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers overall and in age categories: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. The 5K course runs out to Bear Grass and returns to the church. The Bryant Mile is offered as a walk in support of the Project and includes a planned stop to eat a donut at the halfway point.
Proceeds from the fundraiser go to Project Empty Tomb, which supports the Bear Grass Charter School food pantry and the Rodgers Elementary Book Bag Program. Food at the finish area will include sausage dogs and donuts. The Rose of Sharon Laymen's League is listed as sponsor. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
