17th Annual Peter De Mott Peace Trot 5K & 1 Mile
The Peter De Mott Peace Trot is an annual community running event organized by the Ithaca Catholic Worker in honor of a peace activist and local runner. The event offers both a short road race and a longer distance, and it has traditionally taken place on Father’s Day.
Distances and participation options include:
- 5K (timed)
- 1 mile (timed)
- Untimed participation option
The suggested registration fee is $35 and increases to $45 on race day. Participants who raise at least $100 in sponsorships may have the $35 registration fee waived. All registered participants will receive a newly designed collectable t-shirt. Post-race provisions include nutritious food, and age group winners may select unique, practical, artistic, or quirky prizes.
The location is Cass Park marina in Ithaca, New York, at 121 Turtle Lane, with this site used because the usual pavilion is under construction. The event is presented as both a family oriented Father’s Day activity and a chance for serious runners to use a course noted for faster times.
