Event Information
The Pelee Island Winery Half Marathon is a half marathon held on Pelee Island, an island in the middle of Lake Erie, Ontario, Canada. This is the event's twelfth running, described as Canada's most southern half marathon. The course goes around the island for a distance of 21.1 km. The surface is a mixture of pavement, gravel, and tar and chip. The course is well-marked and chip-timed.
The event is capped, with approximately 400 to 440 participants allowed. Registration includes a long sleeve recovery hoodie, an award-winning medal, a bib, and a ticket to the after-run party at the winery featuring wine tasting. A post-race luncheon buffet is available for ticket holders.
Aid stations with water, electrolyte drink, and porta-johns are located approximately every 2 km. Runner's aid kits with supplies are also available. The start is near the winery and the course runs counter-clockwise around the island.
Participants must travel to the island via ferry from Leamington or Sandusky, with reservations required. There is currently no taxi service on the island. Race kit pick-up takes place at the Pelee Island Winery Pavilion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
