About the race
The Pelee Island Winery Half Marathon is a road race on Pelee Island, Ontario, held for the thirteenth time. The event is limited to approximately 440 participants and follows a course that travels most of the island and finishes at the Pelee Island Winery. The course surface is a mixture of pavement, gravel, and tar and chip. In the described layout the first 5 km are tar and chip, the next 8 km are gravel on the east side of the island, and the final 8 km return to paved roads into the winery.
Aid stations are located approximately every 2 km and include a Port A John with hand sanitizer, water, an electrolyte drink, and a runner aid kit with Vaseline and bandaids; GU is available at the 10 km water station. Registration includes a wine‑inspired long sleeve recovery hoodie, a finisher medal, a race bib, and one ticket to the finish line luncheon and after‑run party with wine included. Race kit pickup takes place inside the Pelee Island Winery Pavilion at 20 East West Rd where participants must show ID before kits are distributed. The event notes limited island accommodations and that ferry travel from the Leamington terminal is required; reservations are needed for travel and vehicle and walk‑on fares apply.
