About the race
Parklands Running Festival is a community running event at Lizard Log, Abbotsbury, in the Western Sydney Parklands. The event offers multiple distances on a nature-filled course that includes paved footpaths, roads and a few challenging hills. The first and last 200 m of the course are on grass.
Event distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2 km Family Dash
All timed distances are professionally chip timed by Multisport Australia. There are no cut-off times for the 2 km, 5 km or 10 km events; the Half Marathon has a 3.5 hour cut-off. All finishers receive a themed medal, post-race snacks, sponsor giveaways and a finisher’s certificate. A photographer will take race photos on course.
The 2 km Family Dash is aimed at children; an accompanying adult may run for an additional $10. The accompanying adult is not timed and does not receive a finisher’s medal. Race bibs are printed three weeks before race day and are posted two weeks out; to have a name on a bib, registration must occur at least three weeks before the event.
The venue is reachable by car early on Sunday mornings. Large car parks are available on the east and west sides of Lizard Log, with a grass overflow car park that may require 4WD depending on weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
