Paluma Village Trail Run - Paluma, QLD
The Paluma Village Trail Run is a trail running event held in the World Heritage listed rainforest of the Paluma Range. The event uses Race HQ at the Village Green (56 Mt Spec Road) and takes place on 25 October 2026. The range sits at about 900 m and is generally cooler than the coastal region in October.
Distances offered include:
- 6 km short course, minimum age 8 years
- 10 km intermediate course, minimum age 12 years
- 20 km long course, minimum age 12 years
The courses run on technical rainforest trails with mossy rocks, slippery tree roots, creek crossings and fallen trees. Participants may encounter leeches and local wildlife. Water on course comes from natural sources only; runners should carry purification or sufficient personal water. The 10 km and 20 km courses include about 400 m of elevation gain and require mandatory gear checks at sign in. Required items for those distances include two compression bandages, a fully charged phone, a whistle, an emergency blanket and sufficient hydration and nutrition.
Entry fees vary by distance and by registration period. Included with entry are course marking and marshals, first aid support, professional timing and photography, on-course hydration (no cups provided), a post-race recovery station and a free sausage for participants.
