The route uses well-groomed horse trails with gently rolling hills. The course goes through an area with eucalyptus trees. According to City of Rolling Hills Estates regulations, dogs and strollers are not permitted on the course.

The race uses a staggered start to accommodate runners, walkers, and joggers. It is chip-timed. Participants receive a custom finisher medal and a premium event t-shirt.
