Paint the Town Pink 5K Fun Walk Run
The 2026 Paint the Town Pink 5K Fun Walk Run is an annual community event organized by the West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition. Now in its 16th year, this fundraiser takes place in Columbus, Georgia, with the course set through Woodruff Park. The event supports the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Cancer Assistance Fund, which provides aid to local individuals and families undergoing cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or radiation.
Participants can choose between two main categories:
- 5K Fun Run: A timed event for runners that can be used for qualifications in other races.
- 5K Fun Walk: A non-competitive option for walkers and teams.
The event features a survivor parade and a program dedicated to participants and survivors prior to the start of the race. Runners lead the start of the course, followed immediately by walkers and teams. Registration includes a t-shirt for those who sign up by the guaranteed deadline, while runners also receive a medal for specific age groups.
All proceeds from the event remain within the local community. Packet pick-up is held at the Cunningham Center the day before the event. On the day of the run, the venue operates as a cashless site, though cash payments are accepted during the early packet pick-up period.
