Event Overview
The Ovarian Cancer 5K is a fundraising event taking place in Washington, North Carolina. The event benefits ovarian cancer research through the Mucinous Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
Event Details
There are two event options: an in-person 5K and a Virtual 5K.
The in-person event starts and finishes at Pitt Street Brewing Company On the Pamlico at 307 W. Main Street. Registration and check-in are from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, with the 5K starting at 10:30 AM. Water is provided along the course and at the finish. The event is professionally timed by Run The East, LLC.
Registration fees for the in-person 5K increase over time, starting at $35. A t-shirt with a custom logo by a local artist is included for in-person 5K participants if ordered by August 15. Hats and tank tops are also available for purchase. Medals and t-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after August 14. All in-person 5K finishers receive a medal. There is a strict "NO REFUNDS, NO EXCEPTIONS" policy.
The Virtual 5K option has a registration fee of $30, and all virtual participants receive a medal.
Other Information
Packet pickup is available on Friday, September 25 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Pitt Street Brewing Company in Washington, NC, and on race day from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM outside the venue.
Awards are presented at 11:30 AM for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as for the top three in age categories for 12 & under and 13-16 years old.
A post-run party takes place from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Participants aged 21 and older receive one beer ticket. A food truck, Haven's Pizza, and music will be available. The event is open to walkers and running strollers, but strollers must start behind runners and walkers. Bikes and skateboards are not allowed.
