OUTLAST AMARILLO - Night Out Edition
OUTLAST is a timed trail endurance challenge held over a six hour window in which participants run a 5K every hour, on the hour. Each lap must be completed within the hour to remain in the event; runners who miss a lap are removed. Completing all six laps results in a full finish and a complete combined time.
Courses are on trail terrain and include dirt, rocks, roots, and elevation changes; some sections may include pavement or gravel. The event includes a basecamp or loop start with aid stations offering water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event so participants must bring their own bottle or hydration system. Headlamps are required for night race participants. Individual tents or aid setups are permitted at the site.
Timing is recorded for each individual 5K and a runner’s combined time across all six laps determines local event placing and national leaderboard position. Awards and recognition are tiered by laps completed: patches for four and five laps, a premium OUTLAST medal for six laps, and event awards for top male and female combined times. The fastest runner across all OUTLAST events earns a national title and prize money, and top national finishers may be invited to a future championship.
