OUTLAST AMARILLO - Night Out Edition
OUTLAST is a six-hour trail endurance challenge in Amarillo, Texas, where runners complete a 5K every hour, on the hour. Each lap must be finished within its hour to remain in the event; missing a lap ends a runner’s day. Completing all six laps results in an OUTLAST finish.
The event takes place at 9101 Mariposa Drive on August 28-29, 2027. The course is trail based with natural terrain, elevation, and variable conditions; some sections may include pavement or gravel. Runners have time between rounds to recover, refuel, and prepare for the next lap. Walking is permitted provided each 5K is completed within the hour.
Aid is available at the basecamp/loop start with water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event, so participants must bring a bottle or hydration system. Participants may set up a personal tent or aid station but no stakes are allowed. Suggested gear includes trail shoes, layers, a hydration system, and fuel for between laps.
Registration opens April 1, 2026 and closes May 30, 2027; the registration fee is $90. Awards and recognition include patches for four and five laps, a premium OUTLAST medal for six laps, a premium OUTLAST tee for all participants, local division awards for fastest combined 5K times, a world leaderboard, and cash prizes for top finishers at the championship level.
