Event Overview
The Outdoor X12 Endurance Run & Ruck, also known as the OX12, is a time-based event held in Dayton. Produced in collaboration with Five Rivers Metroparks and the Subaru Outdoor Experience, the event focuses on total distance covered within a 12 hour period rather than a fixed race distance. Participants must remain on the course for the full duration to be considered finishers.
Course Details
The event takes place on a flat loop course measuring approximately 2.7 miles. The terrain consists of 96% grass or trail double track and 4% paved bike path. Because the event begins in the early morning, all participants are required to use a headlamp or flashlight at the start.
Event Categories
Participants can choose between two primary formats:
- 12 Hour Endurance Run
- 12 Hour Endurance Ruck
Amenities and Awards
A scoring table and a roped-off drop bag area are located at the start-finish line, allowing participants to refuel or change gear without leaving the official course. The aid station provides water, Tailwind Performance drink, and various food items such as PB&J, chips, and pretzels.
All registrants receive a t-shirt, provided they sign up before the cutoff date. Finisher medals are awarded to those who remain on the course for the entire 12 hours. Additionally, runners who exceed a total of 35 miles qualify for an engraved mileage award. Overall awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers.
