Our Children Are Sacred
The event takes place on 08/09/2026 in Zuni, New Mexico, at Indian Service Route 42. It includes in-person and virtual options and several distance choices for participants.
Distances:
- 3.1 miles : 5K Competitive Run and 5K Virtual Run
- 2 miles : 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk and 2 Mile Virtual Run/Walk
The 5K is a cross country course with hills and soft sand. The 2-mile course is described as cross country and relatively flat with soft sand. Both courses may be affected by mud and inclement weather. Virtual participants run on their own chosen course and assume their own risk.
Registration is open from 06/11/2026 through 08/07/2026. Standard registration fee is $30. On-site registration is available on the event day for the in-person 5K and 2-mile entries with an additional $10 fee, making the race day total $40 for those events.
Proceeds from registration fees will be used to purchase cultural baskets for Zuni children in foster care and to raise funds for a foster home in Zuni, New Mexico. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
