The One by the Canal
The One by the Canal is a point to point Half Marathon that follows the Grand Union Canal from Cowley Recreation Ground to Cassiobury Park in Watford. The route combines waterside towpaths with country trails and woodland paths, providing mixed-surface running along the canal corridor.
The event includes chip timing, a finisher's medal, race photography, a bag drop, water stations and medical support. The course is fully marked and marshalled. Portable toilets are available in the event village; there are no dedicated changing rooms or showers and no toilets on the route. Pre and post race catering will be available in the event village.
A pre-race coach transfer is offered from the finish at Cassiobury Park to the start at Cowley Recreation Ground; coach places must be booked in advance and runners using the coach are advised to park near the finish. Race numbers are collected at the Registration Tent in the start village on race morning; numbers are not posted.
Entry starts from £35. Minimum age is 17. Personally owned or controlled dogs and buggies are not permitted; registered medical assistance dogs may be accepted with prior approval. The event is not suitable for wheelchair users. Spectators are welcome at the start, along the route and at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
