The One by the Canal - Grand Union Canal Half Marathon
The event is a point to point trail half marathon on 8 November 2026, starting at Cowley Recreation Ground and finishing at Cassiobury Park in Watford. The route follows the Grand Union Canal and uses country trails and woodland paths; courses are signed and marshalled.
Race services include chip timing and a sustainable wooden finisher medal. The route has four water stations, spaced at roughly 5 km intervals, with additional water available in the event village for refilling bottles. Catering will be available at the village and there is suitable medical cover on site. Event photography is typically released within 24 hours.
Facilities at the event village include a bag drop and free portable toilets; there are no dedicated changing rooms or showers. Participants should not expect race items to be posted by mail. Race pack collection takes place in the event village and on-the-day registration may be possible. A pre-race coach transfer from the finish to the start is offered but must be pre-booked; no transport is provided after the event. Race deferrals are allowed until registration closes, subject to an administrative fee.
Access and participation notes: spectators are permitted in start, finish and route areas; personal dogs are not allowed except registered medical assistance dogs with prior approval; the terrain makes the event unsuitable for buggies, pushchairs, strollers or wheelchairs.
