Ollie's Ultra
Ollie's Ultra is an endurance event held at Santa Fe Park in Chanute, KS on a USATF certified course. The race runs on a soft chat trail at the old Safari Golf Course using a certified 2.022 mile loop. Runners complete full loops only; loops finished after strict cutoff times will not count.
The event offers multiple timed formats:
- 48 hour
- 36 hour
- 24 hour
- 12 hour
- 6 hour
- 3 hour
The organizer notes GPS devices may read about 2.08 miles per loop while the official loop distance is 2.022 miles. Full loops only are counted and in the event of a tie the time of completing the last full loop is used as the tiebreaker. The race listing identifies the 48, 24, 12 and 6 hour distances as State Record eligible.
A fully manned base camp aid station is located just past the start and finish area with snacks, hot foods, water and Tailwind. Runners are encouraged to carry their own water bottle or pack. There is space for tents near the aid station and RV campsites are nearby. Registration includes a t shirt and finisher award; hoodies are available for purchase. Deferrals are valid for one year.
Course rules include solo completion with no muling, official timing, a counter clockwise flow, prohibition of strollers dogs and bikes, and a headlamp or light requirement for the 48, 36, 24 and 12 hour entrants. Pacers are allowed after 12 hours with one pacer on course per entrant at a time and pacer bibs available for a fee. Volunteer shifts carry credit toward future registration.
