Ohio's Backyard Ultra is a Last Person Standing running event taking place on March 21, 2026 at McChesney Ridge Athletic Club in Lucasville, Ohio. The format uses repeated measured loops of 4.1667 miles; each loop must be completed within one hour and loops repeat hourly until only one runner remains. Runners must be in the starting corral at the start of each loop or they may not continue. Crews are allowed but limited to one person per runner. Entrants receive a t-shirt. The Last Person Standing receives a cash prize of $500 and a commemorative prize; all other runners are recorded as Did Not Finish and receive a DNF coin.

Course, capacity and logistics

The day course is two loops of 2.08 miles (total 4.1667 miles) with about 450–475 feet of elevation gain and a mix of double-track trail, gravel, grass, and dirt with no pavement. The night course is an out-and-back also measured at 4.1667 miles, with about 150 feet of elevation gain and a mix of dirt, gravel, then pavement. The event field is limited to 115 runners; a waitlist is used once capacity is reached and waitlisted runners may be invited up until race day. Registration pricing is listed on the event entry page and registration closes March 18, 2026. Refunds are available: 100% if dropped 45+ days before the event, 50% for 20–44 days, and 0% for 0–19 days.
