Event Overview

The Ogden Marathon, often referred to as Utah's Spring Run Off, takes place annually on the third weekend in May. This event features a selection of races on USA Track & Field certified and sanctioned courses. The marathon and half marathon routes are known for a gentle downhill profile, making the full distance a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon and Abbott World Majors.

The courses wind through the Ogden Valley and Ogden Canyon, passing landmarks such as Pineview Reservoir and the Ogden River Parkway. The races conclude in downtown Ogden on Historic 25th Street.

Race Options

Participants can choose from several distance categories:

  • Full Marathon (26.2 miles)
  • Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
  • Relay
  • 8.2 Mile run
  • 5K run
  • Kids K (under 1 mile for children ages 12 and under)

Logistics and Spectators

For most long-distance events, participants are required to use official event buses to reach the various start lines, as there is no parking available at those locations. Buses load in downtown Ogden near Washington Boulevard. The 5K distance does not require busing.

The event includes a fitness expo on Friday and a finish line festival on Saturday at the Ogden Municipal Gardens. This festival is free to the public and features live music, food trucks, and a dedicated kids zone. Spectators can track runners via a digital link and are encouraged to view the race at the finish line, Eden Park, or along the Ogden River Parkway.
