Races for the Oasis 5K & Fun Run
The inaugural Races for the Oasis 5K & Fun Run takes place at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, situated within Druid Hill Park. This community event supports The Urban Oasis, a social and cultural hub in West Baltimore's Panway Neighborhood. The course leads participants through the zoo exhibits, with the primary running events held on the grounds of the facility.
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- 5K Run/Walk (two laps, ages 14 and over)
- 1M Fun Run/Walk (single lap, ages 14 and over)
- Kids 6-13 5K
- Kids 6-13 1M
- Kids 5 & Under (free registration)
- Virtual 5K
The 5K race features professional RFID chip timing, while the 1M distance is not chip timed. Registration for individuals aged 14 and over includes a race t-shirt. For children aged 6 to 13, t-shirts are available for purchase separately.
The first 250 registered participants receive complimentary admission to the Maryland Zoo for use on the day of the race after the events conclude. Once these tickets are reserved, additional discounted zoo tickets are available. Complimentary parking is provided at the zoo entrance. Packet pickup is located at the Schafer Pavilion near the zoo entrance on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
