About the race
Oak Valley Xtreme is a trail run held on Oak Valley Estate in the Elgin Valley. The event uses trails that are usually reserved for mountain biking and features flowing single track, steep climbs, and views of the Groenland mountains. The route options are:
- 15 km
- 25 km
GPX files are provided for both routes and are available as ZIP downloads containing the .gpx files. The event includes exclusive access to Oak Valley trails normally not open to trail running, a sustainable commemorative finisher’s medal, and a bottle of Oak Valley wine. Discovery Vitality awards points for completion: 1500 points for the 25 km route and 600 points for the 15 km route.
The event partners include SeaLand and its Protect Our Paths Foundation, which supports trail and public-space cleaning and promotes conscious consumption; the event notes a sustainability focus. Support services on site include vendors such as Circle Coffee and Woodstock Food Truck. Parking is provided behind the main building inside the estate with marshals directing vehicles.
Compulsory equipment listed for the 25 km route includes a minimum 1 litre hydration, a charged cell phone in a waterproof bag, a waterproof jacket, and a whistle. Podium presentations take place after category finishes and prizes must be collected in person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
