Outrun 24 Hour Trail Race : Kirtland, OH
The Outrun 24 Hour Trail Race is held at Lake Metroparks Chapin Forest Reservation in Kirtland, Ohio, approximately 30 minutes east of Cleveland. The event follows a USATF certified, IAU Bronze Labeled loop of 1.002445 miles on woodland trails with distinctive rock formations. The loop surface is primarily crushed limestone and dirt (about 93%) with a short section of asphalt (about 7%). The course is rolling with one main hill and about 65 feet of elevation gain and loss per lap.
Runners may cover any distance or time up to 24 hours by completing as many laps as they wish. Live electronic chip timing is provided with online live results. All participants receive unique race swag. Finishers under 100 miles receive a race medal; runners who complete 100 miles or more receive a belt buckle. Male and female top three positions receive custom awards. A webstore is available for purchase of additional custom items. The event traces its origins to 2012 when it began at Chapin Forest as a way to train for ultramarathons while offering a community-focused trail running experience. Registration closes April 2.
