Outrun 24 Hour Trail Race O24 - Kirtland, OH

The Outrun 24 Hour Trail Race returned to the Lake Metroparks Chapin Forest Reservation in Kirtland, Ohio. The event began in 2012 at Chapin Forest as a training event for ultramarathon runners and uses the park's rock formations and woodland trails as its setting. The listed venue address is 10381 Hobart Road, Kirtland, OH, roughly 30 minutes east of Cleveland.

The course is a USATF certified and IAU Bronze Labeled loop of 1.002445 mile. The loop surface is primarily crushed limestone and dirt with a short section of asphalt, and the route is rolling with one main hill. Each lap includes approximately 65 feet of elevation gain and loss. Course photos, video, and directions are available from the event resources.

The event format allows participants to run any distance or time up to 24 hours. Timing is conducted with live electronic chip timing and online live results. Participant items include unique race swag and event-specific merchandise through a webstore. Runners who finish under 100 miles receive a race medal; runners who complete 100 miles or more receive a belt buckle. Custom awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers.
