Event overview
The Outrun 24 is a 24-hour trail race held in Kirtland, Ohio, at Lake Metroparks Chapin Forest Reservation on May 2, 2026. The event began in 2012 as a way to train for ultramarathons. Runners may complete any distance or time up to 24 hours.
Course
The course is a USATF certified, IAU Bronze Labeled loop of about 1.0024 miles on trails. The surface is primarily crushed limestone and dirt (about 93%) with a short section of asphalt (about 7%). The loop is rolling with one main hill and has roughly 65 feet of elevation gain and loss per lap. The park contains rock formations and mature woodland trails.
Race services and awards
All runners receive live electronic chip timing with online live results and unique race swag. Runners who cover less than 100 miles receive a race medal. Runners who complete 100 miles or more receive a belt buckle. Male and female top 1, 2, and 3 places receive custom awards. A webstore will offer additional custom items.
