Nova Scotia Marathon
The Nova Scotia Marathon is a long-standing event held in the Municipality of Barrington, located on the southwest shore of Nova Scotia. The race takes place in a rural setting on secondary roads, featuring coastal views and ocean breezes. The route is characterized as being basically flat with some rolling hills.
The event is part of the Run Nova Scotia circuit. The full marathon distance is a Boston Qualifying Marathon, measured and certified using the Jones Counter Method. The half marathon course also holds official certification.
Participants can choose from four available distances:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10 km
- 6 km
Limited campsites are available for participants near the start line at Sherose Island, which can be reserved during the registration process. Runners must provide their own tents or RVs. The race site is located at the Recreation Complex on Sherose Island, accessible via Highway 3.
