Northfield Rotary Turkey Trot
The Northfield Rotary Turkey Trot is an annual, chip-timed community 5K run or walk held from the Weitz Center at Carleton College in Northfield, MN. The course travels through the town's northeast neighborhoods, heading north to south along Spring Creek Road and returning toward the Weitz Center along Woodley, Seventh Street, Winona and Third.
- 5K run or walk
The event is organized as a fundraiser; proceeds support the club's youth exchange program, polio eradication efforts and other local and international service projects. Entry includes a long-sleeve commemorative Turkey Trot T-shirt for registrations received before Friday, Nov. 7, while supplies last. To reduce race-day congestion, shirts registered in advance may be distributed the night before at the Weitz Center.
The race is chip timed and will recognize top male and top female finishers. Participants are encouraged to bring dogs on leash and may bring children in strollers. A "free-range" option allows people who are not in town to complete a 5K on their own and upload a photo or video of their run or walk as a way to participate remotely.
Logistics such as the event location, course route and prior event results are provided for participants and observers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
