Event Information
The Northfield Rotary Turkey Trot is a 5 km run or walk. This is the 25th annual edition of the event. The course winds through the northeast neighborhoods of Northfield, passing along Spring Creek Road, Woodley Street, Seventh Street, Winona Street, and Third Street. It is a chip-timed event.
The event starts and finishes at the Weitz Center at Carleton College, located at 320 Third Street East in Northfield. Race-day registration is available at the same location.
Registration costs $30. Participants who register online by a specified date in early November are guaranteed a commemorative long-sleeve t-shirt. T-shirts are available after that date only while supplies last. Participants are encouraged to bring dogs (on leashes) and children in strollers. There is also a "free-range" virtual run option for those not in town on the event day.
Good Cause
The event raises funds to support the Rotary Club's youth exchange program, polio eradication efforts, and other local and international service projects.
Community Tradition
The Turkey Trot is described as a Thanksgiving tradition and unofficial homecoming for the Northfield community, typically gathering over 1,000 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
