Northfield Rotary Turkey Trot
The Northfield Rotary Turkey Trot is the 25th annual, chip timed 5K run and walk held in Northfield. The event starts and finishes at the Weitz Center at Carleton College, 320 Third Street East, and follows a route through the northeast section of town, running north to south along Spring Creek Road and returning via Woodley, Seventh Street, Winona and Third.
Entry fee is $30. Registrations received before Friday, November 7, are guaranteed a commemorative long sleeve Turkey Trot T shirt; shirts are available only while supplies last. To limit congestion, shirts for registered participants and teams are distributed on the Wednesday evening before the event at the Weitz Center. During registration there is a field for a team name; one team captain may pick up shirts for the group.
The event is stroller friendly and dog friendly; dogs must be on a leash and children in strollers are welcome. A “free range” option allows participants who are not local to complete a separate 5K on Thanksgiving Day and share a photo or video of their run. Results are published after the event and recognition is given to the top male and top female finishers.
Funds raised support Rotary programs including the youth exchange program, polio eradication efforts, and other local and international service projects. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
