Northern Lights 5K Color Glow Run
The Northern Lights 5K Color Glow Run is scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2026, in Ely, MN at Whiteside Park. The event is a glow-themed evening 5K that passes through multiple glow zones. The course is paved, has street lighting and a few hills. The event is chip timed, and participants may run or walk. Wheelchairs are welcome. Dogs, bikes and scooters are not allowed.
Registration, fees and items
Standard registration prices listed are $30 for adults, $20 for students and $10 for youth. Race day prices are higher: $35 for adults, $25 for students and $15 for youth. All registered participants receive a glow giveaway item. Shirts are available for purchase during registration and packet pickup for $25 in sizes S-XL, in limited quantities. The organizer states there are no refunds after August 31, 2025.
Charity impact and awards
The event is a fundraiser. The organizer states 100% of registration fees support the Northern Lights Clubhouse, a local program that offers social, educational and artistic opportunities and health, nutrition and transportation assistance for people with mental health challenges.
