Northern Lights 5K COLOR Glow Run : Ely, MN (Sep 25, 2026)
The Northern Lights 5K COLOR Glow Run is a 5-kilometer evening event in Ely, Minnesota held as an annual fundraiser for the Northern Lights Clubhouse. The event supports local mental health programming; the clubhouse provides social, educational, and artistic opportunities as well as health, nutrition, and transportation assistance for people experiencing mental health challenges.
The route is paved, passes under street lighting, and includes a few hills. The course features multiple glow zones that participants move through as daylight fades. The event is chip timed; wheelchairs are welcome. Dogs, bikes, and scooters are not permitted on the course.
Registration pricing listed for advance entry is $30 for adults, $20 for students, and $10 for youth. Race day prices are higher. All registered participants receive a glow giveaway item. Event shirts are available for purchase during registration and packet pickup for $25 in sizes S through XL in limited quantities.
Packet pickup and registration are scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 19; new registrations are accepted until 5:45. Prizes are awarded to top race finishers and for categories such as most creative costumes and best glow. One hundred percent of registration fees support the Northern Lights Clubhouse.
