About the Event
The Northern Lights 5k COLOR Glow Run is an event on Friday, September 25, 2026. It is an annual fundraiser supporting mental health programming in the Ely, Minnesota area. All proceeds support the Northern Lights Clubhouse, which provides social, educational, and artistic opportunities, as well as health and transportation assistance.
The Course
The event is a 5 km glow run. The course starts at Whiteside Park in Ely and is paved. It goes through glow zones. There are street lights and some hills on the route. The event is chip-timed.
Participation and Registration
The run is open to all ages and abilities, including walkers, runners, and wheelchairs. Dogs, bikes, and scooters are not permitted. Advance registration prices are $30 for adults, $20 for students, and $10 for youth. Race-day registration is available at higher prices. All registered participants receive a glow giveaway item to wear. Race shirts are available for separate purchase on the day.
Additional Information
Packet pickup and race-day registration begin at 12:00 noon. There is no refund after August 31, 2025. Prizes are awarded for top finishers, most creative costumes, and best glow. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
