Northern Lights 5k COLOR Glow Run : Ely, MN
The Northern Lights 5K Color Glow Run is an annual fundraiser held in Ely at Whiteside Park on September 25, 2026. The event is a community 5 kilometer glow run where registered participants receive a glow giveaway item to wear during the course.
The paved course is lit by street lights, includes a few hills, and passes through multiple glow zones as the sun sets. The event is non timed; wheelchairs and strollers are permitted. Dogs, bicycles, and scooters are not allowed on the course.
Registration fees listed for preregistration are $30 for adults, $20 for students, and $10 for youth. Race day registration and packet pickup are available on the day of the event; race day prices are higher. Shirts are available for purchase in limited quantities at $25 each in sizes S to XL.
Prizes are given for top race finishers, most creative costumes, and best glow. One hundred percent of registration fees support the Northern Lights Clubhouse, a local program that provides social, educational, and artistic opportunities as well as health, nutrition, and transportation assistance for people living with mental health challenges.
