The North Texas Ultra is a trail running event held at Fort Richardson State Park - North Park Unit in Jacksboro, TX (134 Trailway Drive). Distances offered include:

Course and rules

The race uses the Lost Creek Reservoir State Trailway on an out-and-back loop of 15.5 miles beginning and ending at the North Park Unit. The trail surface is soft fine gravel and is described as an open, wide trail. Elevation gain and loss is about 550 ft every 15.5-mile loop. Pacers are allowed on the last two loops of the 100K, the last two loops of the 52 Miler, and the last loop of the 50K.

Ruck and awards

Ruck weight requirements: if a participant weighs more than 150 lb the ruck must be 30 lb; if less than 150 lb the ruck must be 20 lb. A ruck sack or vest is allowed. Finishers receive a race shirt and finisher medals; 50K and 52M medals have distance inscriptions, and 100K finishers receive a buckle. Awards include first place for male and female in each distance and a DFL award for the 100K. The course is fully marked and supported with aid stations.
