North Texas Ultra
The North Texas Ultra is a trail running event held at Fort Richardson State Park, North Park Unit in Jacksboro, Texas. The event uses the Lost Creek Reservoir State Trailway and follows a 15.5 mile out and back loop that begins and ends at the North Park Unit (134 Trail Way Dr, Jacksboro, TX 76458).

The trail surface is paved with soft fine gravel and is described as open and wide. The course is relatively flat with about 550 feet of elevation gain and loss on each 15.5 mile loop. Historic average temperatures for the event period range from about 35 to 60 degrees.
Aid stations are placed along the loop, with a main aid station at the start/finish (mile 15.5), Twin Lakes aid station (mile 4.4 and 11.1), and a Quarry water station (mile 7.8). Some aid stations allow drop bags and road or crew access; drop bag transport to Twin Lakes is available. Aid station supplies include hot and cold foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice, and ice.
Event rules and gear notes include a no cup policy and a required water carrying system for all participants. Headlamps and emergency blankets are required for the 100K and 52 mile events. Ruck weight requirements are 30 lb for participants over 150 lb and 20 lb for participants under 150 lb. Parking logistics vary by distance and a day pass is required for the state park.
