North East Triathlon
The North East Triathlon takes place in North East, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay waterfront. The event offers Olympic and Sprint formats, including aquabike and team relay options. The venue is located at 203 W Walnut Street, North East, MD 21901.
The swim is a Chesapeake Bay time trial start with two athletes sent at a time; an Elite Box Start is used to position top contenders up front. The bike courses use well paved country roads near Elk Neck State Forest and are described as low traffic, hilly and technical in places with several straightaways and scenic views. The run is a lightly rolling out and back route along the road shoulder heading south of town.
The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and follows USAT competitive rules.
