Event Overview
The Normanby Hall Adventure Race is a running event taking place at Normanby Hall Country Park. The 2026 edition is the 11th year of the event.
Course and Format
The event uses a cross-country horse course. The terrain includes water, mud, sand, and obstacles such as crawl nets and many horse jumps. The course also features some hills and a swamp. The exact conditions depend on the weather preceding the event.
Two main distances are offered:
- A new 5 km option, consisting of a single loop of the adventure course.
- A 10 km option, consisting of two laps of the course.
A separate "Do it twice" option allows participants to run the 5 km wave and then the 10 km wave. There is a 75-minute window to complete the first 5 km. The "Do it twice" entry includes a unique trophy. A junior fun run is also available for children aged 4-11.
Participant Perks
All participants receive a cake and a medal at the finish. An optional event-themed t-shirt can be purchased separately. Profits from clothing sales support charity partners, free coaching sessions, and community venues. A portion of the event's proceeds directly sponsors the Scunthorpe & District Pony Club Charity to support the upkeep of the horse course.
