Night of the Mile
TAMUCC Track & Field hosts the Night of the Mile at the Dr. Jack Dugan Track in Corpus Christi, Texas. This track event focuses on the 1 mile distance and provides participants with an opportunity to test their speed in a competitive environment. The event takes place on a Saturday evening.
The race follows a heat-based format. During registration, participants provide an estimated finish time, which organizers use to assign runners to specific heats. The track meet utilizes a rolling start for these additional heats following the initial race. Pacers are available to help participants manage their speed during the run.
The Night of the Mile is integrated into the larger 2026 Endurance Fest. Participation in this event contributes toward the Enduro Trifecta Medal, which is awarded to those who complete three specific events over a three-day period.
On-site amenities include music provided by a DJ and the presence of food trucks. Bib pick-up occurs at the Dugan Track during the hour preceding the first heat.
