West Newton River Festival 5k
The West Newton River Festival 5k takes place in West Newton, Pennsylvania. The event acts as the opening activity for the local river festival, which features food, craft vendors, games, live music, and fireworks. Participants start at 108 W. Main St. and complete a course on the Gap Trail.
The route is designed as an out and back course. Two primary events are available for participants:
- 5k Run
- 5k Walk
Awards are provided based on performance in several categories. The top three male and top three female finishers in the run receive plaques. For the walk event, medals are awarded to the top three finishers. Additionally, medals are given to the top male and female finishers in specific age groups, including under 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.
