Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon and Two Mile Race
The Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon and Two Mile Race takes place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The event includes running, competitive walking, and wheelchair rim push/hand crank divisions.

The half marathon begins in downtown Parkersburg and is the RRCA West Virginia State Championship. The rolling course travels out of the city into surrounding West Virginia scenery before looping back into the commercial area. The finish is on Market Street prior to the Parkersburg Homecoming Festival Parade, with spectators along the street.
Half marathon participants receive a tech shirt, a pre-race pasta dinner, a finisher medal, and a post-race pizza luncheon. The pre-race pasta dinner is held at St. Francis Xavier Parish Center near the finish line; two-mile participant, guest, and children tickets may be purchased at the door.
The Two Mile Race starts at Third and Juliana streets at the Towne Square Parking Garage and finishes at Sixth and Market streets. The two mile is the RRCA West Virginia Championship. Company, family, or school teams are available for the 2 Mile Run; the top four fastest team members determine the team score. All two-mile participants receive a T-shirt.
Registration and packet pickup occur at the Parkersburg Municipal Building. Awards for the two mile and half marathon are scheduled at nearby community locations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
