New Year's Day 10K Race and 3K Fun Run
The event is organised by volunteers from the Serpentine Running & Triathlon Club and is based at the Old Football Pitches, Hyde Park, London SW7 1SG. It takes place on traffic-free paths through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens and is traditionally held on New Year’s Day; the next race date is 01/01/2026. The event village was moved to the south side of the Serpentine after a 2024 course obstruction. The event’s Terms & Conditions have been reviewed and updated for 2026; bookings are non-refundable.

Course and facilities
The 10K course includes two short laps in Kensington Gardens before returning to Hyde Park and finishing on the south side of the Serpentine at the Old Football Pitches. The route passes several landmarks, including Kensington Palace, the Italian Gardens, and the Henry Moore statue. Number collection is on the morning of race day. Toilets are available at the Serpentine Lido and Serpentine Bar & Kitchen. Bag drop and water stations are provided. There are no changing rooms.
Entries, rules and prizes
Event capacity is 650 runners and entries must be booked in advance. The 10K minimum age is 16 on race day. The cut-off time is two hours. Baby buggies, dogs, walking poles and lead/assistance bikes are not allowed. Use of personal stereos, headphones or mobile phones during the race is not permitted. Each finisher receives a medal, water and finish-line goodies. 10K prizes include Soar vouchers of £150, £100 and £50 for the top three, with additional £50 vouchers for top V50 places.
