Oberstdorfer Nebelhornberglauf

The Oberstdorfer Nebelhornberglauf is a mountain running event held in the Allgäu Alps. The race features a single distance that takes participants from the valley floor to the summit of the Nebelhorn mountain.

  • 9.7 km with approximately 1420 meters of elevation gain.

The course starts at the valley station of the Nebelhornbahn. The route leads runners through various terrains, including asphalt roads, alpine paths, and agricultural tracks. Key points along the route include Kühberg, the Tobel, and the Seealpe. From there, the path continues across the Latschenhang to the Höfatsblick station, before making the final ascent to the finish line located at the Nebelhorn summit.

Specific mountain running regulations apply to this event. The use of poles is prohibited. Participants can make use of a luggage transport service, where items dropped off at the valley station are transported to the Höfatsblick station or, in cases of extreme weather, directly to the summit. A time limit is enforced at the Höfatsblick station; runners reaching this point after the cut-off time must end their race there.

Paid parking is available at the Nebelhornbahn, in front of the ice stadium, and at the Oybelehalle. Registered participants are eligible for free downhill cable car rides during specific training windows in the weeks leading up to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
