Event overview

The Turkey Trot takes place on 26 December 2025 in Nairn. The race starts and finishes at the Maggot Sports Ground. The course distance is 5k. Registration and refreshments are provided at the Nairn Seamans Hall. Parking is available at Dunbar Golf Course and the Maggot carpark.

Entry and rules

The event is run as a predicted-time race: participants submit a guessed finish time and races are judged against that prediction. No timekeeping devices or watches are allowed, including GPS gadgets. Prizes are awarded to those nearest their predicted time, for best full fancy dress costume, and as spot prizes. Children are encouraged to run with their parents. Entry fee is £5, or free for entrants wearing a full fancy dress costume (not just a mask or a Santa hat).
