Nairn Triathlon Festival
Held on 11 July 2026, the Nairn Triathlon Festival is organised by Triathlon Inverness with support from Triathlon Scotland. Events start with an open water sea swim from the east beach, the bike routes go through the Nairnshire countryside, and the run courses include beach front sections with views over the Moray Firth. A team of volunteers marshal the event.
Distances for the main races and youth duathlons:
- Standard: Swim 1500m, Cycle 40km, Run 10km age 18+ on 31 Dec 2026
- Sprint: Swim 750m, Cycle 20km, Run 5km age 16+ on 31 Dec 2026
- Super Sprint: Swim 400m, Cycle 10km, Run 3km age 15+ on 31 Dec 2026
- TriStar Start: Run 400m, Cycle 1km, Run 200m age 8 on 31 Dec 2026
- TriStar 1: Run 1.2km, Cycle 2km, Run 400m age 9 10 on 31 Dec 2026
- TriStar 2: Run 1.6km, Cycle 3km, Run 600m age 11 12 on 31 Dec 2026
- TriStar 3: Run 2km, Cycle 4km, Run 800m age 13 14 on 31 Dec 2026
Wetsuits are expected to be compulsory unless water temperature is unusually high. Cycling helmets are compulsory; no helmet means no race. Entries may be placed on waiting lists and the closing date for entries is 03 July 2026. A valid home nation race licence or a British Triathlon race pass is required; race pass costs are £2 for participants aged 24 and under and £8 for those 25 and over. The organiser’s refund rules allow a partial refund for withdrawals by 13 June 2026, with no refunds after that. The venue is listed at Maggot Car Park, Riverside Ct, Nairn IV12 5DE.
