Big Butts - July 18, 2026
Big Butts is a trail race presented by MUTS Running in Jackson, MS. The event on July 18, 2026 offers multiple distances and a relay on mostly single track and cross country trails around Mississippi College Choctaw Trails.

The course uses 7.75 mile loops on cross country and Butts Park single track trails, with about 170 feet of elevation gain per loop. Most of the route is shaded and the terrain is described as not technical with a few small hills. Aid is available at the start/finish and at one on-course station offering water, Tailwind sports drink, and food. There is space around the start area for personal aid setups including tents, coolers, and chairs.
Time limits and cutoffs include a 14 hour limit for the 50K, 100K, and 100K relay, and a 7 hour limit for the 25K Fun Run. Runners are asked to carry a water bottle or other hydration. Runners starting a lap after late afternoon must check in with the timer or race director and carry a headlamp or flashlight; cell phones do not count.
Registration details include a t-shirt cutoff on July 6 and a registration close on July 15 at midnight CT. Packet pickup is available Friday at Buffalo Peak Outfitters and at the start on race morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
