Event overview
Big Butts on Saturday, July 18, 2026 is a trail event hosted by the Mississippi Ultra and Trail Society at the Mississippi College Choctaw Trails pavilion in Jackson, MS. The event offers multiple distance options run on mostly single-track trails that use 7.75 mile loops on cross country and Butts Park trails. The course is described as not technical, with a few small hills and roughly 170 feet of elevation gain per loop. Much of the route is shaded.

Individual 100K, 50K, and a 100K relay are available. Relay teams may consist of 2-4 members with only one team member officially on course at a time. Runners may drop from a longer distance to a shorter one during the event but will not be eligible for awards if they change distance mid-race. 100K and 50K entrants are not allowed to drop to the 25K for credit.
Support, rules and logistics
Two aid stations are provided: a start/finish station and one on course, stocked with water, Tailwind sports drink, and food. Runners are required to carry personal hydration. There are no finisher medals; top three males and females in each individual race and the top relay team receive custom awards.
