Mules & Blues Fest 5K Run/Walk
The event is a 5K run and walk held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, for Infant Mortality Awareness. Registration is $25 per person. There is a strict pre-registration deadline; registrations must be received by September 30, 2026. A T-shirt is guaranteed to all runners who preregister on time; sizes are assigned based on timely preregistration.
The venue is the Quitman County Courthouse at 220 Chestnut Street in Marks, Mississippi. The course distance is 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) and is described as relatively flat with one or two hills. A route map is provided by the organizers.
On race day there is registration and race packet pickup. Amenities include goody bags, a water table at the halfway point, and free post-race soft drinks and refreshments. Awards are given for overall finishers for first through third place for male and female. Age group awards are given for first place only in the following groups: 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and up, separated by male and female categories.
