Mudgee Running Festival
The Mudgee Running Festival is a family friendly regional event in New South Wales that stages multiple races on the same day at Lawson Park, Mudgee. The festival uses courses that pass through the Mudgee valley and along the banks of the Cudgegong River and includes visits past vineyards, wineries and farmland.
The event features the following distances
- Marathon
- Half marathon
- 10 km fun run
- 5 km fun run and walk
Course details vary by distance. The 5 km route starts and finishes in Lawson Park and follows established flat paths around the park and along the Cudgegong River. The 10 km run is an out and back course that crosses and then follows the river, with an uphill section to the turnaround and a downhill return to Lawson Park. The half marathon climbs north out of town past numerous wineries before returning downhill to finish in Lawson Park. The marathon weaves through the Mudgee valley and moves past vineyards, wineries and farmland.
Event support includes water stations, a wine station and volunteers along the longer courses. The festival also runs twice weekly training sessions at local fields to help participants prepare. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
