Mudgee Running Festival
The Mudgee Running Festival is a regional running event held in Mudgee, New South Wales, with a program of races on the same day and activities centred on Lawson Park. The festival is described as having a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and presents routes that pass through local landscapes and town areas.
Distances on the program include:
- Marathon weaving through the Mudgee valley.
- Half Marathon routing north past multiple wineries.
- 10 km out and back along the Cudgegong River.
- 5 km fun run/walk around Lawson Park.
The marathon and half marathon courses move through the picturesque Mudgee valley, passing vineyards, wineries, farmland and grazing cattle. The marathon course lists water stations, a wine station and volunteer support along the route. The 10 km course crosses and then follows the Cudgegong River with an uphill section to a turnaround and a downhill return to Lawson Park. The 5 km fun run/walk follows established flat paths around Lawson Park and along the riverbanks and is presented as a family-friendly option.
