Mudgee Running Festival
The Mudgee Running Festival is a regional running event held at Lawson Park in Mudgee, New South Wales on Sunday 23 August 2026. The festival stages multiple races on the same day, with the following distances:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km fun run/walk
The marathon course weaves through the Mudgee valley and passes vineyards, wineries and farmland with grazing cattle. The marathon route includes water stations, a wine station and volunteers positioned along the course. The half marathon heads north out of town, climbs past numerous wineries and then returns downhill to finish in Lawson Park.
The 10 km event is an out and back course that crosses and then follows the Cudgegong River, with an uphill section to the turnaround and a downhill return to Lawson Park. The 5 km fun run and walk starts and finishes in Lawson Park and follows established, flat paths around the park and along the banks of the Cudgegong River; it is presented as a family friendly option.
The festival provides training plans and community training sessions for local participants. Children 12 years and under must have a parent or guardian present at training sessions. Results and event photography are recorded for previous editions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
