Mudgee Running Festival
The Mudgee Running Festival is a regional running event held at Lawson Park in Mudgee on Sunday 23 August 2026. The festival offers multiple race distances on the same day and presents a relaxed, community-focused atmosphere.
Race distances include:
- Marathon
- Half marathon
- 10 km fun run
- 5 km fun run/walk
Longer courses weave through the Mudgee valley, passing vineyards, wineries and farmland with grazing cattle. The marathon includes water stations, a wine station and course support from volunteers. The half marathon heads north out of town, climbs past several wineries, then returns downhill to finish in Lawson Park.
The 10 km is an out-and-back course that crosses and then follows the Cudgegong River, with an uphill section to the turnaround and a downhill return to Lawson Park. The 5 km starts and finishes in Lawson Park and follows established flat paths around the park and along the banks of the Cudgegong River; it is presented as a family-friendly fun run.
Event materials note additional services such as training plans, race photography and published results. Organisers list sponsors and local partners. For 2026 the 5 km event includes a new start line on Church Street, metal medals, a Best Dressed award with a cash prize and a field cap of 500 participants.
