Event Overview
The MTC Shamrock is a single day ultra marathon distance race covering 50 miles. This event serves as a standalone competition and also functions as Day 4 of the MizMal end-to-end challenge across Ireland. The course follows a point-to-point route along the West Coast, starting at the Cliff House Hotel in Ballybunion and concluding at the Limerick City Hotel.
The route primarily follows the MizMal path provided by Wild Atlantic Cycling. Participants navigate through approximately 1,550 feet of ascent and 1,616 feet of descent. There is a strict minimum pace requirement of 4 mph throughout the duration of the event.
Participation and Logistics
Registration is limited to a maximum of 40 participants, which includes a specific allocation for those completing the full multi-day Irish series. The event is designated as cup-free; runners must provide their own reusable drinking vessels to use at the aid stations.

The mandatory kit list includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, a compass or GPS device, a mobile phone, and a basic first aid kit.
