Event Overview
The MTC Boggle is a 39.4-mile ultra marathon. It is also Day 8 of the MTC Albion, a thirteen-day, 503-mile end-to-end challenge of England. The event starts at the Tudor House Hotel in Tewkesbury and finishes at the Travelodge Bristol Filton. The route follows the same path as the organizer's JOGLE race, but with a reduced daily distance.
Course and Logistics
The course has three checkpoints before the finish. A minimum average pace of 4 mph is required throughout the race; competitors who fall below this pace may be withdrawn. The event has a strict field size limit of 20 participants for the standalone ultra, with an additional 20 spaces for MTC Albion participants, making a maximum of 40 runners in total.
Participant Requirements
Competitors must carry specific mandatory kit, including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, maps (provided before the event), a compass or GPS device, a whistle, a mobile phone, and a basic first aid kit. The event is cup-free, so participants must bring their own reusable cup. A tracking device with an SOS button is provided to each runner by the organizer.
What's Included
All finishers receive a bespoke Boggle medal. Male and female champions also receive a unique race trophy. An optional entry upgrade includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi-viz jacket, provided the upgrade is selected at least four weeks before the event.
Rules and Conditions
Entry fees are non-refundable, but a deferral option to the following year's event is available for a fee if requested at least one month before the race. Personal cancellation insurance can be added during the booking process. The organizer reserves the right to make changes to the route or cancel the event if necessary.
