MTC Boggle : event summary
The MTC Boggle is a single-day ultra covering a total distance of 39.4 miles along the Mount to Coast route from the Tudor House Hotel (GL20 5BH) to Travelodge Bristol Filton (BS34 5GN). It forms Day 8 of the MTC Albion thirteen-day end to end of England series and follows the same route used by the MTC JOGLE event with reduced daily distances.
Entrant numbers are limited to 20 places for the standalone Boggle plus an additional allowance of 20 places for Albion competitors, giving a maximum field of 40. The route includes three intermediate checkpoints near Longford, Whitminster and Berkeley at the approximate mileages shown in the route data. Organisers operate preset cut-off criteria based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; competitors who fall below this standard may be withdrawn.
Maps and GPX files are provided to registered competitors only and real-time tracking is issued to entrants via a supplied device that includes an SOS function. The event is cup-free; competitors should bring a reusable cup. The stated ascent is about 1,346 ft with 1,195 ft of descent.
Mandatory kit requirements include a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps as provided, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food and basic first aid items. Entry fees are listed as £90 for the ultra or £155 for the plus package, which includes a race shirt and lightweight hi-viz jacket. All payments are non-refundable under the organiser’s terms, and entrants must meet the minimum age requirement of 20 years on race day.
