MTC Boggle overview
The MTC Boggle is a single-day ultra covering approximately 39 miles on a route that follows the organisers' JOGLE course but with reduced daily distances. The course runs from the Tudor House Hotel in Tewkesbury to Travelodge Bristol Filton and is listed as Day 8 of the MTC Albion thirteen day end to end of England.
Competitor fields are limited to 20 entries plus an additional 20 places for Albion participants, giving a maximum of 40 starters. The event enforces a minimum average pace of 4.0 miles per hour; preset cut-offs are applied along the route and competitors who fall below the requirement may be withdrawn. Entrants must be 20 years or over on the start day.
Maps and GPX files are supplied to entrants only, emailed four weeks before the race. Organisers provide a tracking device with an SOS function for safety and real-time monitoring. The race is cup free so competitors are expected to bring a reusable cup. Example checkpoint food includes malt loaf, cakes, sandwiches, sweets, squash, cola and water, and dietary requirements must be disclosed in advance.
Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, the provided route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and an emergency food pack. Entry fees are stated as £90 for the ultra or £155 for a package that includes a race shirt and hi‑viz jacket when ordered at least four weeks before the event.
