The event is held in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, with start and finish on the fire road just north of the Old Zoo picnic area (nearest ranger station address 4730 Crystal Springs Drive, 90027). The program includes four events: 8 miles, 8 kilometers, 5 kilometers, and a 2.2K kid run. The 8-mile option follows an out-and-back route that reaches the Hollywood Sign viewpoint and passes near the Griffith Observatory and Downtown Los Angeles.

Course surface and aid stations are specified by distance. The 8-mile course is approximately 6 miles of trails and 2 miles of asphalt, with aid stations at start/finish and at miles 1.63, 3.5, 4.5, and 6.62. The 8K has about 3.12 miles of trails and 1.9 miles of asphalt, with aid stations at 1.5 and 3.5 miles. The 5K is about 3.12 miles of trails, with aid stations at start/finish and at mile 1.52. Porta-potties are located at the start/finish area.
Additional event services include chip timing, free photos for the 8-mile course, a finisher medal, a gender-specific short sleeve t-shirt, awards for overall and age-grade winners, volunteer support, gear check at the start area (unclaimed items held for 48 hours), and finish-line fruit and snacks. Dogs are not permitted. Packet pickup is available in advance at Fleet Feet Burbank and on event morning at the Old Zoo area.
