Hollywood Sign Run | Hike - Griffith Park, Los Angeles
The event on Sunday, January 31, 2027 takes place in Griffith Park at the fire road just north of the Old Zoo in Los Angeles, CA. It comprises several trail and run options on marked out-and-back courses with aid stations and volunteer support.
- 8 miles : Hollywood Sign 8M Run | Hike, out-and-back to viewpoint
- 8K : Mt Hollywood 8K
- 5K : Griffith Park 5K Trail Challenge
- 2.2K : P 2.2K Kid Run, guardian may participate
Course terrain varies by distance. The 8M course is approximately 6 miles of trails and 2 miles of asphalt. The 8K course combines about 3.12 miles of trails and 1.9 miles of asphalt. The 5K is largely trail (about 3.12 miles) and the kid run is entirely on trails. Porta-potties are provided at start and finish.
The routes offer views of the Griffith Observatory and Downtown Los Angeles, and the 8M includes an up-close view of the Hollywood Sign. Other visible landmarks include Glendale, the DreamWorks campus, and the Los Angeles River. Free race photos are provided for the 8M with Mt. Lee and the Hollywood Sign in frame.
Amenities and policies include a premium short sleeve t-shirt, a finisher medal, awards for overall and age grade winners, sponsor prizes for overall winners, chip timing, gear check at the starting area, multiple aid stations with medical staff, and flexible one-time transfer or one-time deferral options when requested at least 14 days before the event. Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Burbank, 1516 Magnolia Blvd, Burbank CA. Parking near the site is limited so carpooling or ride share is recommended. Strollers and dogs are not allowed.
