Mr. T Memorial Scholarship 5K
The event is a community 5K run and a 5K walk held in Gassaway, West Virginia at The Pulse Gassaway, 403 Elk St. It takes place on July 4, 2026. The event includes separate running and walking entries over a 5 kilometer course.
Registration opens April 9, 2026 and closes July 2, 2026. Pre registration is listed at $20 and race day registration at $25. The entry fee is non refundable.
Proceeds are used to replenish the Mr. T Memorial Scholarship, which was established in 2019 in memory of a former BCHS science and math teacher. Scholarship recipients are selected based on attendance, work ethic, academic record, and intent to pursue further education at a four year college or at a vocational or trade school.
Awards for runners include overall top three male and female finishers and top three male and female in age divisions: 14 and under, 15 to 24, 25 to 34, 35 to 44, 45 to 59, and 60 plus. Walkers receive awards for the top five male and top five female finishers with no age divisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
