Medal Madness at Bettendorf
The Medal Madness event takes place in Bettendorf, Iowa, at Middle Park. The competition features multiple distances held on out-and-back courses. Participants can choose between three different event lengths:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
The 5K and 10K events use a 0.78-mile out-and-back route, totaling 1.56 miles per lap. Runners completing the 5K distance finish two laps, while those in the 10K finish four laps. The Half Marathon utilizes a 1.09-mile out-and-back route, resulting in a 2.16-mile lap; participants in this category complete the lap six times.
There is a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes for all participants. Finisher medals are provided to those who complete their respective courses. Additionally, the event encourages participation in a best costume contest and awards points as part of the US Road Running series.
