The Mountain Goat Trail Race
The Mountain Goat Trail Race takes place in Rupert, Vermont, on September 19, 2026. The event is based at the Sap House on VT-315 (3270 VT-315, Rupert, VT 05776). Registration is limited; the total event registration limit is 150 entries, and the trail race has a combined field limit of 120. Online registration closes September 18, 2026 at 5:00 PM ET.
There are two race categories with different distances and courses:
- Trail race: 8 miles, about 1,800 ft climbing, starts and finishes at the Sap House
- Kid's Fun Run: 0.75 mile loop around animal farm, starts and finishes at Sap House
The trail race runs on forest trails described as rugged and includes substantial climbing. The Kid's Fun Run follows a dirt road loop around the animal farm. All entry proceeds from the event are donated to Merck Forest & Farmland Center. The event is organized by The Mountain Goat and is scheduled at the Rupert location listed above.
