Mount Rushmore Half Marathon - Keystone, SD
The Mount Rushmore Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile road race through the Black Hills region of South Dakota with views of Mount Rushmore. The course begins on a well-packed dirt road at Ghost Canyon Getaway for about three miles, then continues on pavement. The route includes substantial uphill sections and a final downhill before the finish at the Borglum Story Museum in Keystone.

Course details include five aid stations, a stated elevation gain of 1,850 ft, and a four hour course time limit. The event provides parking at both the start and the finish, with shuttle service returning runners who parked at the start to their vehicles after the race. Bib pickup is available at a race expo held at Baymont by Wyndham in Keystone, with additional race morning pickup and an option to have bibs shipped for a fee.
The event operates a cup free hydration system; runners may bring a lightweight reusable cup or personal hydration system for self-serve aid stations. Awards include place medals for top finishers overall and age groups, plus a finisher medal for everyone who completes the race. Results and event photos are published online after the race.
