Mother's Day Classic - Point Samson
The event is based at the Point Samson Community Hall and features walk and run courses along local roads, beach and jetty. Registrations for this event have closed.
Distances offered:
- 5 km cross country unsealed course that follows Barker Terrace, Meares Drive and Point Samson Road, turns onto Cliff Street, crosses a sand hill to the beach, continues along the shoreline to the stairs near the park and proceeds to the Point Samson Jetty before returning to the Community Hall.
- 3.5 km sealed road course that follows Barker Terrace, Meares Drive and Point Samson Road, turns onto Fisher Street, returns via Cliff Street toward the Community Hall, proceeds past Honeymoon Cove carpark and loops back along footpaths to the Jetty and finish at the Community Hall.
Event village and registration are located at Point Samson Community Hall. Parking is available on site and participants are advised to drive or carpool. The venue is accessible and the course is pram friendly. Facilities include Point Samson Park toilet block and market-style food and vendor stalls such as Boost Juice Mobile, Taste of Eden and a local bake sale.
On event day there are community activities including sunrise yoga, live music, market stalls and a play program with craft. The event does not provide official run timing. Dogs are allowed in all areas but must be kept on leash. Participants are asked to bring their own water. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
