Mother's Day Classic - Hamilton
The Mother's Day Classic at Lake Hamilton is a community fun run and walk that supports breast and ovarian cancer research. The event uses a lakeside course that starts and finishes at the Lakes Edge Adventure Playground and proceeds clockwise around the lake.
Distances:
- 4.2 km complete one full clockwise lap back to the start
- 10 km continue clockwise, cross the spillway and follow the Grangeburn path to a marked turnaround, then return to the lake
Event facilities are located near the start and finish in the Event Village. Amenities mentioned for participants include a coffee van, egg and bacon rolls, food and drink, drinking fountains along the course and at the village, toilets at the Lakes Edge playground, take out showers and baby change facilities. The venue and course are described as accessible, and they are wheelchair and pram friendly. Dogs are allowed in all areas on leash. Parking is available on surrounding streets and the site is reachable by driving, biking, or walking.
